Back in 1948, the Dodgers brought their spring training camp to Vero Beach, and Dodgertown - a beautiful place where the players could eat, sleep and play baseball - was born.

Holman Stadium was built in 1952 and in 1953, baseball attendance in Vero Beach ranked 3rd in the state -- just behind Miami and St. Petersburg. Over time, Dodgertown grew as other features were added including a golf course, new housing, an administration building, training facilities and a conference center.

In 1980, the Dodgers expanded the use of Holman Stadium and Dodgertown when they moved their Single A team to Vero Beach creating summer baseball. Today, not only do the players enjoy Dodgertown, but fans can too as the Sports and Conference Center Complex with all the amenities which make Dodgertown unique has been opened to the general public.
